    Hi,

I have recently moved house and have a fully fitted kitchen with integrated appliances.

Problem is the existing dishwasher isn’t a patch on my AEG. The AEG wasn’t integrated in my last kitchen, and my builder tells me that he can’t therefore exchange it for the integrated one.

Is it possible to get a new door panel for my AEG that would allow it to be integrated, or am I stuck with the existing dishwasher unless I buy a new AEG built for integration?

    Any suggestions?

    Hi Space

Can you give us a little more info on the integrated machine please ie make model and what the problem is. Is the kitchen and appliances a new install? As all to often we find that appliances that fail soon after install is very often down to poor installation.

As far as your old AEG goes you can`t fit a door to a freestanding appliance I`m afraid.

    Hi Don,

Thanks for this. The kitchen is not a new install, and the existing dishwasher is OK, it’s just not as good as my AEG (which is the best we’ve ever had).

The configuration of the baskets is nowhere near as good. We tend to be pretty heavy on the use of mugs/cups/glasses and the AEG was bought with this in mind. The integrated dishwasher is configured in such a way that lots of these items sit flat, and always need wiping dry before putting away.

It’s a personal choice really, and I miss my AEG. We are thinking of installing it behind a pair of double cupboard doors. Not ideal but at least it will be accessible and won’t spoil the line of the kitchen.

We had a similar problem with the fridge as the integrated one is just too small, but think we’ve solved that one now.

Trouble is the manufacturers have stopped making the cupboard doors so we have to re-use what is there.

    We’ll keep working on it.

    Hi Space

It`s probably about the best outcome you are going to get to be fair. While the door line should be okay the plinth will need to be cut through to allow the door on the AEG to open properly.

    Hi Don,

I reckon we’ll just about get away with cutting the plinth without it being too noticeable.
