    Glad to have found this forum, lots of useful info here.

    We need a new integrated washer for a new kitchen, and in our price range choice narrows down to 2 vendors / 3 models:

    Bosch WIS24140GB – 7kg, 1200 rpm
    Electrolux EWG12440W / EWG14440W – 5 kg, 1200 / 1400 rpm

    After reading these forums I suspect Bosch is a better option, and we would be ready to go for it despite higher price.

    However, after going through the Buying Help – Washing Machine Load Sizes I started to think that maybe 7 kg washer is not the best option.
    Unfortunately, seems that Bosch is not making 5-6kg integrated anymore.

    Could you please advise what to go for?
    Is Electrolux going to be fairly reliable and serviceable (is it affected by drum bearing problems and is the drum sealed?)

    The Bosch IMO opinion is still the better machine which is why it has a two year warranty.

    The Electrolux machines do not have sealed drums, however should the bearings fail the whole tub assembly has to be removed so the numerous bolts can be removed which hold the two halves of the tub together.

    So far as I know some of the later ones can be Don, depends what plant it comes out of. 😕

    Many of the AEG ones are supposedly sealed tanks as well now both freestanding and integrated and, as usual and above, you find out when it breaks.

    I did check on Pro Corner and the EWG12440W does appear to have the split drum system.
