    Got this one 3RLER5437KQ1 dryer dead. Found door switch intermittent got it to close now timer whirrs but no heater/motor action. There is a blue device in the exhaust duct which appears to be open circuit. is this a fusible resistor and would it stop dryer operating completely?

    Hiya,
    There is a thermal fuse on the ducting, used to be white when I worked for the Whirlpool agent, this would stop the machine running. Part number 481925228115 shown for the 3rle18000jq machine. Look for that and see if it’s the same as the one you’re looking at.

    i think that you are also supposed to replace thermostat next to thermal fuse when it blows 😮
