Hi all,
Last time I was here I got some great help hope it continues!
The problem:-
ADMIRAL GC2224GEKW Fridge/Freezer
Every now and then when you go to dispense ice nothing happens.
Open the door and energise motor and you can hear it hum but spindle does not turn.
You can turn the motor spindle by hand so it is not stuck or frozen.
Last time it suddenly sprang back into action when I energised motor and turned it by hand at the same time. Instant success but not this time. Other times it has just started working again for no obvious reason. You go to dispense ice just to check and ‘voila’ it’s working!
Water dispenses just fine.Before anybody suggests otherwise I have EVERY intention of calling out a service engineer for this, and not a single panel or screw has been touched. But because it is out of warranty I want to get an idea of what may be wrong and how many children I will have to sell to pay for it. 😀
Fingers crossed for what might be a really easy fix.

Alternatively if this is the motor that turns the ice ‘screw’ at fault does anyone have an idea how much it will cost?
I have scoured the internet and can find no instances of a fault like this.
