Went to a Hotpoint today to change the brushes. When I got the old ones out the customer looked at them and said “I think I might have some of them out in the shed”. He was gone a few minutes and came back with a little cardboard box containing genuine Hotpoint brushes. They were much like the ones currently available but the part number was different and they don’t have the small tag for keeping them retracted. The price marked on the box was £3.99 so he must have had them a good few years. I was tempted to put in normal new ones and keep the NOS ones for myself but that would be even sadder than writing about it on here 😉

I think they stopped putting them in boxes when the laminated type came out around 1991 I think. Thats when they started putting the tabs on them , before that it was a little laccy band on each brush.
