ParticipantMy 3 year old Bosch SGV43E03GB/16 won’t run a program.
It starts by filling for a max of about 30 seconds then drains again. Then continues to fill/drain indefinitely until reset.
I’ve had a look at the PCB – no obvious burnt-out parts.
Taken the LHS panel off to look at pipes – water enters the water inlet fne and drains out again. The only bit of crud I can see is in the top right corner of the water inlet housing which looks lke a ‘dead-end’ and doesn’t seem to block the flow. Could this be the problem or should I start looking further afield.
Saw another post (different model) which suggested a faulty impellor jug causing a similar problem but can’t locate this part on the Bosch schematic diagrams….
Any advice gratefully received – I had booked a Bosch engineer to come out until I found out the call-out was nearly £70 plus £45/hour labour plus parts *gulp*. Bought some Marigolds instead 😕

Just try blowing air through the sump outlet – I couldn’t see anything obvious on mine but it fixed it – got to be worth a try…..

Just taken the clear hose between water inlet and pump housing off (=sump outlet??) and is all clear. Any other ideas? Willing to try anything that doesn’t sound too tricky…….

You are on the right lines becsom. I take it that was the ribbed hose from the sump to metering unit on the lhs?
If you remove the l/h panel and look at the water matrix and the metering unit, Im sure there will be signs of crud build up.
Changing those two parts, if crud visible should sort you out.
This usually occurs due to food debris off plates being spattered around.
A quick swish under tap of crocks before loading will reduce this problem in the future 😉Power off before attempting removing that panel or any work on appliance :plug:

Ok – please forgive my ignorance of terminology, my knowledge is restricted to the diagrams and part names from the Bosch website ‘spares’ page diagrams.
Water matrix=water inlet (big plastic housing for water intake and distribution). Some ‘gunk’ in top right corner above a piece of curved black plastic. A possible culprit? Replacement part only £20+VAT but can’t work out how to free it from the water inlet cover on the inside of the dishwasher. Brute force???
Not sure what the metering unit is – the impeller jug???? Also taken this off and looked clear of debris. Worth replacng anyway?
Many thanks

Hi
Apologies, yours doesn’t have the metering unit and the water matrix isn’t problematic on yours 🙂Most probable cause is the impeller jug (flow meter)
These have a stupid failure rate 😡HTH

gegsy – just wanted to say thankyou, thankyou, thankyou!!
New impeller jug part delivered for £16 all-in, fitted by my semi-capable hubbie, and we now have a fully working dishwasher 😀
This site is brill, your advice WAAAAYYYYY better than a £70 Bosch engineer call-out. Nice one 😉
