ParticipantHi guys. Me again !! Re Maxx WFL 2450 FD 8112604598 -Jan 2002
I have noticed that the fabric conditioner dispenser is full of water at the end of the cycle. I have checked for blockages but all apertures !!! are fully open and nothing is blocked in that part of the dispenser.
I recently had a clear out of all the mould and put on a 90 degree wash.
Any ideas?

Have you completely cleaned the actual drawer ? Its important to ‘flip’ up the central section , clean out both pipes and when refitted , ensure that the top -bigger- pipe goes over the smaller pipe. Also ensure that the small channel at the rear centre of the drawer is clean.

Yep…have done all that. I’m thinking that there is some fault with the water shutting off. Perhaps it keeps going when it shouldn’t. I did use that HG mould spray on the roof of the soap box but I can’t see that would do it. 😕

Remove drawer. Look up into roof and locate the centre holes. Use something like a cable to tie to poke up and into the holes to dislodge the accumulated gunge. If that doesn’t do the trick, the lid section can be separated from the main body for better access – screwdiver job, so power off if you need to go that route.

Hi Penguin. I’ve just poked about the holes in the roof with a cable tie incase there’s a bit of gunge behind that I can’t see. I’ve put it on a rinse…..hang slack I’ll go and take a look now.

OK. I poked about with the cable tie , used the plant spray and did 4 rinses and a big bit of black mould came down. There’s still more water in the dispenser than usual but it’s much better . I’ll have another go tomorrow.
I’m not sure that I would know what to do with the lid Penguin.Do you mean the lid of the machine itself or the roof of the soap box ?

Well – you’ve got to remove the lid of the machine to access the soap box – the top will unclip once you’re in.
It needs a good flow of water to make it work properly. A little trickle through the centre holes just won’t do it.
As I said, power off first.

I’ll remember that for next time Penguin. Thanks ! At the moment it seems to be working fine again. It just goes to show that no matter how clean it all looks, mould is lurking unseen 😯 . Always be prepared (as they say) with a cable tie. If you don’t buy anything else get a packet of these 😀 Invaluable !!
