Originally had a badly worn drain pump. When set to wash it is sometimes trying to spin and reversing drum direction without pausing between tumbles.

Have seen this quite often in the past and always cured it with a new/replacement control unit.

Motor tacho is perfect and is not the type that is prone to failure on these.

Original control unit is now on its way back from EMW apparently with ‘No fault found’ 😕

    Any suggestions?

    Jim.

    Jim,
I do think that isn’t hard to verify again tacho and it’s wires… that happen when electronics does not see that motor is rotating (tacho signal isn’t received by electronic) and triac it’s enable to be commanded…

Hi Adrian, hope the weather is as hot and sunny there as it is here.

When the timer arrives back I am going to give the tacho an extensive check to be absolutely sure.

I have had more than one taco with a crack in it , I even had one go with a big bang on its first test wash after changing the module. Me not happy that day.

By a stroke of good fortune I was installing a new ISE-2 today to replace an old Hoover machine with a damaged outer drum, the motor ( now in the back of my car ) was in perfect condition. 8)

When one door closes, another one opens. 😀
