ParticipantHi, I have an A1635 showing error 2. Having searched the archives this is motor / triac related right?. The motor seems to spin fine either starting a programme or spin cycle; It looks like it goes into error mode at the point I would expect it to reverse the direction i.e after a few rotations (wash) or a few dozen (spin).
Should I be putting in a new triac, or calling a proper engineer? The motor and drum assy. were replaced under warranty a couple of years ago.
Thanks in advance for any help / advice…July 29, 2008 at 9:54 pm #258689iadom

Board level repairs are not for the faint hearted, bearing in mind that the fault may lie elswhere. The error code is supposed to signify a jammed motor or tacho fault, but as your motor will run then the error code is not much use.
It could be poor module connections however the Indesit electronics in these machines are notoriously unreliable so may well be faulty.
Personally I know what I would do with it. 😉

Thanks, that’s confirmed my “it need a proper look at” hunch. I’ll bow to the evil of paying extended warranty for a year to get it fixed

Thanks in advance for any help / advice…Hi Joe
Did you have any luck with your A1635, as I have the same problem as far as I have found some say error 2 can be faulty motor or heater, I have check the element and find it draws 7.5amps my machine does three turns of the drum filling with water and switching heater on and then starts to pump out water and the dial starts to rotate and LED flashes twice.Regards
Don

Hi all,
Completely new to this site, but in need of help.
I have an Ariston A1435 Washing machine which has an error code F02 (LED flashes twice as the controller rotates). To my knowledge, this is what happens :
Turn to any program and switch on – the drum fills and rotates about 3 or 4 times, then the pump kicks in and the drum empties, but during this stage the controller starts clicking and the pump still pumps even though all the water has gone. The LED flashes twice.I’ve have tried resetting – powerring off – checked the pump for obstruction but all seems ok. I do have another slight problem in that the fabric conditioner is not beiong used but I guess that’s either blocked jets or faulty solenoid. Could this be causing the problem?
I can put program 8 on but only from the rinse cycle onwards and this works so I’m assuming it’s nothing to do with the motor?? I could be wrong.
Given the current climate – I’m reluctant to buy a new machine, so I’m going to try all that I can before I give up – any help appreciated.
Thank you

2 flashes is supposed to signify a motor fault.
It could be loose motor wiring, faulty motor or even the very dodgy main PCB.
Don’t go overboard trying to repair this machine, it just ain’t worth it. 😥
