    Hell everyone,

    My Smeg fridge has gone down and i am trying to find out what the problem is. I was wondering if anyone new how to check a SEALED capacitor.

    It makes a humming sound from the compressor when i plug it in and after a few mins it warms up. But nothing else happenws. I thought the capcitor might be broken, but i am no fridge expert 🙂

    Any ideas?

    More likelly that the compressor has failed due to a restriction.

    Thanks for replying bryan,

    As is a mechanical failure you mean? Is there anyway I can check for the symptom?

    If not can you recommend anywhere where i could get a replacement compressor?

    Compressor supply isnt a problem as we hold them in stock but it will need to be fitted by a refrigeration engineer.

    How much is a Danfoss r600a 6891 NLY9kk.3 compressor please?

    How much roughly do you think it would be? (either by time, or overall cost) for an engineer to fit and dispose of the old one?
