    I hope you can help!

My current hob is ceramic, and my oven (electric) is AEG competence, both are about 17/18 yrs old.

I wanted to know how complicated the install of a new induction hob and electric oven is, i.e. is it a case of unplugging the old one and plugging in the new one, or is it more complicated wiring etc?

It’s in a fitted kitchen with appliance isolator

(Oven is 60x60cm hob is 58wx50d cm)

    Hi

You will probably need an electrician to ascertain whether the supply is capable of running an induction hob. Most I have looked at require at least a 30 Amp supply.

The following previous threads are worth a read on this type of requirement.

    Thanks Don

I’ve been told it can take up to 40 amps

If it’s of any use the codes on the oven say 415v in 50hz 3.1kw 240v and model no is 523 b-w, typ 56 bpb 04gd

I want to replace it with an AEG induction hob and oven

Would it be possible to remove old and fit new appliances myself or will I need an electrician? Any cooling fans required?

Here’s some pics of the current oven

    Hi

Cooling fans are indeed fitted to the induction hob. To ensure good ventilation to stop the hob from overheating it may necessary to cut away the top few inches of the rear panel behind the oven.

Before purchasing the induction hob you should consider the possible repair costs if it goes wrong. There are 3 circuit boards inside, 2 identical ones that retail at over £350 and another that is over £400. I went to one that had blown 2 of these boards. You may also need a new set of pots and pans for induction cooking.
