Hi.I’ve just bought a Bosch waa24162gb washing machine from comet. All’s ok, but where is the warranty card that you’re ment to send away? The only things supplied are an instruction booklet and a small booklet explaining where my nearest service centre is(bsh in wolverton).I assume i’m right in thinking i’m ment to mail some warranty registration away…That’s what i’ve read on here anyway.Any help on this is appreciated.Cheers.Damian.

    Hi Damian

There normally is a warranty card supplied in the instruction pack. To register the guarantee online click here for the Bosch website.

all machines sold by comet are covered by their own engineers

bosch will only refer you to comet if you register and ring them anyway

    Hi helo

I knew Comet did cover some of their own guarantee work ( from my old days with Comet 😉 ) I didn`t realise that it had now stretched to all majors. It just goes to show you learn something new every day 8)

    @Don
and Helo, thanks for the immediate feedback. In particular Don for supplying the web address for bosch registration.Seems like bosch are now omitting warranty cards, as i’ve certainly not had one enclosed.Had it not been for this forum i’d have been stuck with a 1yr guarantee!Guys, thanks so much.Damian.

Nah you wouldn’t. You get your two years anyway. All you need is proof of purchase.

BTW Comet will cover the first 12 months and BSH the second year.

Just make sure you keep your receipt with the “bumph” for the washer,-that way, you KNOW where it is, should you need “proof of purchase-date”

BTW Comet will cover the first 12 months and BSH the second year. The second years warranty like most manufacturers is ONLY available to people who register their appliance.

Your appliance automatically comes with a 12 month full manufacturer’s guarantee which covers all labour, materials or carriage costs (subject to terms and conditions), however, if you register your Bosch appliance, you’ll receive the second year’s manufacturers guarantee absolutely FREE.

    Re: Bosch warranty

Its just Bosch/D&G’s way of getting hold of your details so that they can bombard you with mailshots asking you to renew the warranty at the end of the two year period.

As superfix has already stated, keep your receipt, its all you need.

2 year warranty is at the manufacturers discretion if you dont register, the quote was from the terms and conditions on the bosch website.

Geezas; No flame wars please 😆 .Regardless, all input is appreciated and heeded. On a flip note, can anybody comment on the service/aftersales side of things from Comet?I’ve done some short term research and things seem not so good in my estimation(from the 2006/2007 yr anyway).Cheers.Damo.

    Re: Bosch warranty

Don’t worry, we don’t do flame wars here. A gentle difference of opinion is as far as we allow it to go. 🙂

If you have a valid reciept then you will be fine. Bosch or D&G would not refuse to repair your machine in the second year if you have proof of sale date. You would only need to say you definitely did post off your registration and for whatever reason they did not receive it.

They will not go to the trouble of arguing with you over it in spite of the ‘small print’ on their website.

As I have already stated, its just a way of getting your details on record to pester you in the future.

    Jim.
