ParticipantAfter only 27 months, my Bosch SGS43T52GB/21 appears to have given up the ghost, and before I start ‘rummaging’ around inside to try and find the cause of the problem I thought it prudent to ask the experts for their advice both to save unnecessary work and to ascertain if any consequent repair work would be economically viable (a new machine can be bought for about £239).
About a week or so ago, the machine started making a slight whining noise shortly after the cycle began and I think the sound is coming from a pump. Yesterday, the ‘Check Water’ light came on sometime during the cycle, and whilst everything inside appears fully cleaned and rinsed I haven’t yet checked to see if the cycle fully completed or whether the machine still operates at all.
So, my questions are this – what is the most likely cause of the problem, what (else) should I be looking for and what would be the likely cost of parts to fix the problem ( I am capable of carrying out most repair work myself – it’s the diagnosis which beats me). The manual states the light comes on due to a water supply problem so my first port of call would be the inlet feeds and filters, I believe.Edit: Tried to run machine through a cycle – nothing. Power light (program sequence) comes on and then silence.
Hope you can help.Jazomir

Hi
If there is no noise from drain pump at the start of the cycle then it may mean that it is jammed with some debris.
The check water lamp indicates – water turned off, poor water pressure, blocked gauze filter in fill hose or faulty flow meter (impeller jug)HTH

PS – Un plug appliance before attempting any investigations :plug:

Do Bosch use some special sized-heads self tappers on these machines? I’ve tried all my Allen Keys (I have dozens) on them and none fit – closest match is a 3mm. Because of this, I’m totally unable to remove the side panel.
