Program runs for a while and then stops. Light then flashes 4 times and then repeats. Is this the black cover in the bottom causing problems? Have tried cleaning with hiot water and a toothbrush but no luck, how easy is it to take off to clean? This problems seems to occur every time the machine is left for a week or more (i.e. for holidays), what can be done to prevent it happening every time? Thanks.

The water indicator is a twist fit from underneath the machine. Power off, door outer off, lower cover panel off for access. It’s a diaphragm switch operating a microswitch – the microswitch does lose its spring and stick. A replacement unit is available HERE if required.
