Have a Belling XOU17SS that has started cutting out in the middle of cooking. Turning the selection switch all the way round to 0 and then back one (top grill and fan?) and it works again. For a while you could switch it back to the original selection and it would continue working but it now seems to need massaging (the selection switch that is) to switch back from 0 to the grill to work at all.
Does the selector switch need replacing or is there a sensor in the (very dirty oven) that is having problems?
Any help would be appreciated, wife back at the weekend!

Does sound like a problem with the switch or it’s connections. With power off you need to get the oven out and remove panels so you can see the wiring. Inspect the switch for burnt wires, contacts etc.

Thanks for the comment, have looked (with no fingers close!) at the switch as I select different setting and it does flash when getting to the setting that (or when) it works at.
Have resisted the temptation to take the oven completely out because of the weight but I guess that is the next step (WITH THE POWER OFF).
Okay, took the switch off and the last contact was blackened and the the flexible contact that the switch moves had flipped up so was only making contact by accident rather than design, took the connection apart, pushed the switch contact back in, reconnected the contact firmly and everything works 😀
In the long term will need a switch but for the moment it works and it is a simple task to change the switch.
