    Hi Guys,

Can any one shed any light on this little problem.

Im a white goods engineer buy trade and have been so for a few years. I have this up down fridge frreezer that ony seems to run for a cycle then stops. Once at temp it turns off to defrost and doesnt restart, internal light stays on when door switch is shut and nothing happens!!! If you switch it off and on again it works again but only again for the one cycle.
Ive tried interupting it in cycle and then leaving it without compressor running till cool enough to restart and it does, but again one cycle then stops.

Orginal fault was diagnoised by another engineer and i was revisiting to fit parts. Orignal fault was noisey baffle motor and stops running after 1 min. Parts ordered was new baffle motor and pcb. Pcb fitted first and motor problem was misdiagnoised ended up being the magnet near reed switch sat incorrectly hence no action once resat and switched on had action. After initail first freeze now this new fault occurs.

I know the run capacitor is ok as tested fine and obviously runs for first cycle. I wondering if pcb fitted is a bad part. Am i missing something simple?????

Please help as its driving me insane!!!!

    Any help welcome Thanks

    Tim.

    Hi Bryan,

Do you mean the frost heater is open circuited, has infinite resistance, is burnt out?

    Regards,

    Doug

    Hi

After approx 8hrs the appliance will go into a defrost,if the defrost sensor does not reach +17oc then the appliance will stay in defrost until it does or the appliance is turned off and then back on to reset the appliance thus starting the cycle again.

Good man i knew there was something simple i was missing. I was informed all parts tested correctly but i knew something didnt quite add up. Have so many different appliances every day sometimes you cant see whats right in front of you.

    Cheers pal many thanks.
