ParticipantWhat a pain in the ar8e this one is 😥
Replaced the module and eeprom damaged through condensation. I thought the condensation was due to a hole in the wall behind the machine 😥
Further investigation revealed that when the dryer is on after about 20 mins. steam starts to come out of a hole on the heater box (immediatly above the fan to the rear of the fan motor) The steam then condensates on the inside of top cover and eventually runs down the wiring loom on to the module 😕 Further to this steam starts to come out of the soap drawer
😥
For the life of me I cannot understand why there should be a manufactured hole in the heater box and why there is no means of the soap drawer to tub hose (trap) being kept topped up with water when drying.
Anybody shed any light on this lot ❓ or do I just put it down to the usuall high standard of design from Indeshit.August 6, 2008 at 8:31 pm #259326lerch

From serial number 80414.0000 a new style dispensor hose with an intergal weir has been develoed to over come the problem of steam escaping during the drying process.
Old style part number:- c00115450
New style part number:- c00260015
hope this helps 😀

You can also get a clear plastic cover to go over the module to protect from water drips. Don’t have the part number to hand at the minute.

Thanks Guys
This is water running down the wiring loom right to the base of the module, I can’t see a cover stopping it 😥
What I need to know is why there is a hole in the dryer box that allows steam to escape in the first place 😕 . what you don’t need in a appliance with electronics is steam condensating everywhere 😕August 13, 2008 at 8:20 am #259330maltheviking

Anyone else any ideas to the “hole”/condensation problem with this begger?

Have done 😉 , really need to know why it’s there
I am not really a fan of covering things to stop water/condensation getting into things although sometimes you have no option :rolls: , I would rather sort out the origin of the problem

I’d be tempted to put a hose on it then route it out of the m/c & either point the hose down or up so as to let the steam flow out, bit like a vent hose on a car/bike engine from the coolant reservoir!

Participantor clean the condenser out so it can deal with the steam in its own environment

Attended a Hotpoint WD640G today, power board dead – evidence of water tracks. Dryer unit had the same hole in the top, but closer inspection revealed that the blower housing to tub gasket was only fitted on three sides…..
