My washing machine drained into my dishwasher because of a blocked U-bend.

I have now drained the water out, but the dishwasher keeps bleeping at me. When I shut the door, the pump starts up and the bleeping continues for about 30 seconds. It seems to be stuck in a loop.

I lost the manual and am unable to get a new one so could somebody help with the following two questions please?

    1 – Is there a re-set procedure.
2 – Any ideas what I can do to remedy this situation?

    Thanks.

    Update:

Found a download of the manual but there is no details on reset or beeping sounds, so any help much appreciated.

Standard fault on these Chinese machines is water leaking into the base – you don’t usually need a washing machine to help you!

If it’s the usual Haier/Midea stuff, the leds on the control panel will flash in a pattern, indicating an error code.

    No flashing, just bleeping.

It done this once before whilst it was under warrantee. The engineer said it was because we use 3 in 1 tablets and rinse aid. They don’t like that apparently.

I’m highly doubtful that that is the case. He was only there for a few seconds, so I suspect he done some sort of re-set.

What would you do to find the fault?

I tried calling Haier for support, but they were as unhelpful as Comet / Matsui.

Comet’s answer was to send an engineer for £129.00 plus parts plus VAT. I only paid £140.00 for it…….therein lies the nub!

That is correct. 3/4/5 in 1 tabs will often cause these to overflow to the base, more so if you happen to use rinse aid with them so it is highly likely that the engineer that attended was correct.

Also, when this happens, it’s not unusual for the motor or stats to blow as they get wet.

What I’d say to you is that, if it only cost £140 it’s probably not worth fixing, especially a Haier in a dress.

Often, unless you know these machines, the only way to find out the problem is to sit with a meter and work it out for yourself as service info is scarce at best. Either that or you throw parts at it which is too costly a solution.

Thanks for the info – I think I got there myself though.

I have bought an Indesit DI450 to replace it. I don’t have to pay until I pick it up on Saturday, so please tell me if this is rubbish too.

I paid £250 for it BTW.

    Hi

Not much better than the Matsui I`m afraid 😉 . Much better to pay an extra £150 odd pound and get the Neff S54E53X1GB.It will last at least twice if not three times as long as the Indesit and it will also have a full two year warranty.

    Hi

In that case then the Gorenje GVI60010 whch also has a two year warranty is much better than the Indesit and it is hardly any difference in price on Google 😉

Thanks for spending time on this Don.

Needs to be slimline though – that’s why the options are a bit limited.

Don’t know. I posted the same message here the day before but when I came back the post was gone and my log-in name didn’t work.

I think I may have posted in the wrong forum – could that be it?

Should have twigged from the model number 😳 😆

In that case then it looks like it will have to be the Indesit. There isn`t anything else in the same price range.
