Our trusty old spin dryer has just failed. To be more precise two of the four rubber suspension bushes to the motor have given up the ghost – these are similar to Metalastik bushes and for both the rubber has parted company from the metal end disc at one end only. As a new machine is £100+ wonder if anyone knows where such bushes can be obtained to make it as good as new?

The Hoover ones still seem to be available, part No. 09010117.

I was afraid you would ask that! It is an old Morphy Richards and I wouldn’t bother except I can see it is just the bushes – everything else looks as though it will go on for ever! Anyway I think I have identified what looks like the identical component described as a Rolls/Colston spin mount kit MTS 10 for £8.64 so just checking this out and it looks promising. Only snag is it might not be in stock so anybody know of an off the shelf source?

RSWWW .com may well have something that will do.

they’re on the industrial estate, by the post Office sorting office.

Strictly “trade only” but they’ll do a cash “courtesy-sale” over the counter..play nice and look up the part on-line FIRST.

they stock a big range of silentblocs and isolastics.

Another possible source is an exhaust-centre! literally dozens of different isolastic/metalastik mountings have been used over the years…again, a net-search will find a specialist manufacturer of fittings/kits….that will get you to the components.

    Re: spin dryer rubber bushes?

When I followed up the mounts via the website, and also from the OEM they confirmed they were obsolete. A local repair company had one and thought they might be able to get another three – at £3.99 each! However in the meantime my wife picked up a second-hand Bendix – like new – for only £10 so sadly the old one will now have to go for scrap and the Chinese will probably then turn it into the latest bargain from Aldi!
