ParticipantWhatever programme I use on my Bosch dishwasher (it’s a little over two years old), the cycle stops about 2/3 minutes into the programme and the digital timer returns to zero. The inlet pipe is not blocked and water is getting into the machine for those few minutes.
Any ideas out there?August 18, 2008 at 9:16 pm #260099Penguin45

Sorry. The printed circuit board, or computer, was my suggestion. It’s not a “logical” fault with the machine, which usually means that the computer is the culprit.

Hi there,
I guessed it was something like that as none of the programmes would run more than a couple of minutes before cutting out … then I remembered a similar problem with an earlier dishwasher (about 4-5 years ago) when someone told me to pull it forward and then tilt it backwards a couple of times.I did this with the Bosch yesterday and, lo and behold, it completed its cycle for the first time in over a week.
When I do this tilting thing what exactly am I doing that makes it suddenly decide to work and complete the cycle? And is this something I would always have to do from time to time or is their some more fundamental fault that I need to sort out?
Thanks for your help
Niall

Does any water come out when you tilt the machine? because it sounds like your float switch(anti flood switch usually found in the base of appliance) as been activated and by tilting machine you are just getting rid of the water and reseting your float switch.
remember power off first!

Hi Phil,
I didn’t notice any water … and to be honest I didn’t look.
Will check this out and get back to you.
Thanks

If the float switch were operated by water flooding the base moulding, the drain pump would run. And run. And run……. Until it was drained out.
Like I said, not logical.

PCB faulty as Mr P stated, no other reason to go to zero.
