This in-cupboard small dishwasher will not work after 10 years in the loft but only 3 months use from new in 1997. Moved house. Been renovating etc.

Water will not go in from the hose at the dishwasher end. If filled with water manually it sprays and pumps out properly.

Suggestions for cause and checks please. I note from a 1995 posting that spares are trickey and expensive for what is now an old machine so anything big and the dishwasher gets it!

Is there a replacement of similar dimensions, cupboard max size 42w x 68h x 52d.

    Thanks Dick

The first thing (and probably wildly inaccurate!) that comes to mind, is perished rubber in the fill-valve and the solenoid is not strong enough to “unstick “it.

    unplug if removing panels!

Spares are officially obsolete. With the power off, check the resistance of the coil on the inlet valve – you should get approx 3.5kOhm with it split from the circuit. If it’s dead, a generic valve should fit – contact spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk for supply.

The machine was a unique product – there is no similar replacement.

Many thanks CS and Penguin, I will investigate as suggested (and without ‘doing a Homer’ – Simpson with live electrics).

If I have to scrap it is there some bit of this site I can offer it on for free spares?
