ParticipantYes. I got an LG spider from Connect 4434ER1003C at £36.29. Now I wanted to do a last check to see if it would indeed fit model WM1375FHB, so I googled the part number. Who came up top of the list? You’ve guessed it. And price £35.72 😯 . So you guys are selling parts to my customers cheaper than I thought I could get them myself? 😕 😡

KeymasterThat’s more of a reflection of your buying price than anything else I would think. 😉
And yes, you can pay over SRP as a “trade” price.

Hi Mike
You need to hassle your rep then for a better rate 😉 I have got £31.45 for that spider. But I guess it depends on your monbthly spend as well :rolls:

Still seems rather cheap for UKW to be selling them at only £4.27 profit?
Connect’s SRP is £56.86. Is UKW some sort of charity?
Mike.
Edit: And I bet if you checked espares et al you’d find that price.August 22, 2008 at 2:58 pm #260414kladave

You can buy the complete bearing, spider and seal kit on Ebay for £59! IIRC ours were priced to compete with some guy on Ebay at one point and we hardly ever sell one TBH. Most people won’t tackle that sort of job themselves and those that would would never call anyone out anyway.
I keep on telling everyone, shop around and don’t just believe that you’re always getting a true trade price. You need to use multiple suppliers to get the best prices.

Same price here………and Connect’s Bosch parts are way over retail when you add the VAT. This situation is starting to really p1ss me off as there is now no way to just buy without extensive (and time consuming) searching, cross – referencing and checking. Even worse if you’re waiting for Qualtex prices to appear……

Seme used to do LG parts at about half Connect’s prices, so maybe Dave bought a few of these spiders from them a while ago. Looks like Seme are getting out of white goods now as fast as they can offload the stock. They don’t seem to have much left at all. 😥

I posted this on another thread on 13th August:
“Connect seems to have woken up to the increased competition they’ve been getting recently. I got a phone call today from a nice young lady called Amy who asked me why I’ve been spending less with them over the last year or so, so I told her that Qualtex are, in general, much cheaper and give an excellent personal service.
She told me they’ve taken on six new account managers [including her] to look after their smaller clients, who they must have noticed have been spending less recently. She knew exactly how much I’ve spent each month this year and last and said I should find that the prices I’m quoted should start coming down.I mentioned about how their trade prices are very often higher than the manufacturers’ retail prices but she didn’t pass comment on that one.
It’ll be interesting to see what happens over the next few weeks.”
I have noticed a reduction in their prices since then and sent them an order on Thursday – which didn’t arrive as it should have yesterday.
I did tell Amy that that even if they did sort out their pricing policy I would still be using Qualtex and others as well, as it’s fatal to just rely one supplier.

qas,
How much to send a dozen to UK? 😆 Or would we have to pay import tax? 🙁

Mike.A quick estimate puts it about £20 each, but to get that price it’s shipped by sea (8-12 weeks). Airmail would be no dearer than what you already pay.
Actually I could almost match connect prices sending single ones and sending airmail. Probably could have beaten them a couple of months ago when exchange rates were better 😀
