    Hi
    We have a hotpoint WD420P which is washing and draining ok but when it comes to the final spin it only spins a couple of times and then doesn’t spin again. There are no flashing lights only the door locked, wash, rinse and spin, final spin and on/off lights are on but nothing more happens (it should be spinning to dry the clothes). We then have to press the cancel button, but the clothes aren’t dry. We have tried it with no clothes in the machine but it is the same. I have checked all connections.

    Sounds like a problem with the uneven load sensing. You often get this if you only have one item in the drum as the machine keeps trying to redistribute the load but can’t get it balanced. Does it do the same with a normal mixed load?

    Thanks for the reply.
    We have tried it lots of times with different loads and also with no clothes in the machine and it does the same thing. Do you know where the balance sensor is? can it be bypassed?

    nope…sounds more like a pcb prioblem tbh

    Replaced the circuit board with reconditioned one from http://www.emwelec.co.uk/ and the machine now works fine.
