Hi. I had problems with thespark generator on this built in double gas oven.
So i replaced it. Now for some bizzarre reason no gas is coming through!! It is sparking in top oven but no gas coming through and bottom nothing happens. As soon as i turn the thermostats for either oven on the cooling fan operates. I have checked and double checked and double checked the wiring to the generator. It is absolutely fine. I even tried putting the old one back on. but same problem!!
I thought it could be the timer stuck on auto so replaced that with digital one (anolog originally fitted) and set the clock but same problem. I am suspecting the main logic pcb to be faulty and pure coincidence this happened as i pulled it out.The customer also did say the fan would stop intermittantly? Can some one please please please advise as the customer is without a cooker at the moment!
Ps.. sorry for the essay!! ha ha.
Check the tube attached to the pressure switch first of all, it should be pushed through a hole leading out of the back service panel,, check all the screws are in the back panel too.
Which fan is stopping intermitantly ? the cooling or stir fan ?

the stir fan, it isnt coming on at all. The cooling fan starts straight away. I checked the hose and it is pushed into the hole. could it be the pressure stat itself? does it control both oven gas supply then?

Yes it does, until the pressure switch is activated it wont allow the gas through, have you refixed the back panel on before testing the oven ?
With the fan it could be that it has gone but there is also a fan delay board fitted (unless its one of the first ones and has never been updated) that will delay the oven stir fan coming on, this was to allow the flame time to stabilize as I remember there were delay timers of 5 and 15 seconds to start with which were finally modified to 30 seconds delay.Most engineers who have attended these ovens tend not to bother doing a repair on them again 😀 they are a walk in the park though when compared to the GRF that replaced them !!!
