ParticipantHi Folks 😀
I have a favour to ask any engineers out there. I’ll be buying an ICE 10 within a couple of months, but in the meantime need to keep my 17 year old Zanussi Jetsystem Turbodry machine going. It works fine except that as from last week there’s no spin.
I have checked the filter (clear)
Removed load, switched off and tried again (still no spin)
Taken it through a cycle (machine fills to correct level & pumps out again)
The drum does turn, but only at the end of the cycle, during the de-crease phase (so I know the motor isn’t dead)I’m wondering if it’s likely to be the capacitor? Or a board fault? The machine is pre-electronic, so it’s a mass of wires plugged into mechanical switches. I have removed the top of the cabinet and cannot see any loose wires.
Where is the capacitor located in this machine? There’s something that looks capacitor-like at the very top rear centre, bolted to the cross member of the cabinet frame. However, from the markings it also contains a resistor and a couple of inductors so I wonder if this is the RF filter. I cannot see anything else resembling a capacitor in there, even after tilting the whole machine back to look underneath.
This machine is so old and patched up already that it isn’t worth any more than a ten quid punt on a possible repair until I get my shiny new ISE. I just need some clean clothes in the meantime!
Any suggestions? :worthy:

What is the model no. Please ?
Usually without the MODEL number details we are at a complete disadvantage. The model number is usually in the form of a fixed plate located on the door surround, door hinge, on the fascia panel, behind the filter door flap, stamped on the back panel or even listed in the documentation you got with the appliance.Mike

Sorry about that Mike – in my ignorant way I’d thought Jetsystem Turbodry was the model 😳
From the back of the filter flap it seems that the model number is in fact
