    Thanks for the help with my door handle – all fixed and working.

    Upon testing though i noticed the spin on the washer is very very noisy (like a grating/whirring noise)- further questionning of the mrs reveals its been like this for a while but getting progressively worse.

    Is this the drum bearings?? If so is this something i can do myself too and how much are the replacement parts??

    not too difficult, but be prepared with plenty of plasters of a good thick pair of gloves!, all done from the back of machine, parts are in shop@, just check the shaft on the drum (especially the brass bush) for wear, if its worn badly then the only solution is a whole new drum, hopefully you have caught it in time
