I have a 14yr old Hoover crystaljet 7000 model no D7420 and over the last month or so the drain function has been intermittent.
I work in electronics/high voltage so have had a look at the internals
Underneath the removable filter is a plastic assembly which has a small dia plastic hose attached which leads under the machine to a pressure switch this seems to be normally open. If I remove the pipe and blow down it the switch functions and closes circuit. I assume this switch is to tell the machine water is present in the sump? (via water pressure in the pipe) and activate the pump and switch off when empty. Could the pressure side of the switch be faulty/worn and not physically closing the circuit? or has the timer/programmer had it. All other functions work
A replacement seems to be available at £25.00 I guess the switch has been used in more recent models. I would rather try and fix it than junk it

When the pressure switch opens during draining the pump shouldn’t switch off…it’s switched by the timer. When it’s contacts open that allows a feed to the timer so it will progress through the program correctly.
Much more likely is an intermittent pump…a quick test is to observe the machine not draining then put your ear to the cabinet to see if the pump is humming 😉
