ParticipantThis is a rechargeable screwdriver made in the USA.[google it]. Instead of a battery, it uses an ultracapacitor. whilst it has only about half the capacity of a lithium-ion battery, it has the great advantage that you can recharge it from the mains in under two minutes. You can also see it on You-tube. Anyone know of a UK source?

this is a cheaper version same principle tho, i looked at this technology a while back your best waiting a while the bigger companys will no doubt bring out better quality drivers with torque control etc pretty soon, like eerything else the price will fall as there are more and more versions of this becoming available.

I would find out about discharge rates on anything with an ultracap. This is the one area where lithium ion really scores. My cordless lithium drill can sit around for months and still retain 90{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} charge. 😯

i use a little bosch 3.6vlithium driver it is small enough to fit in my toolbox perfect for our job and has a little torch on it perfect for cookers, but the best thing about it is the angled attatchment which i use all the time brilliant and diccounted at the min at B & Q to £22 so i bought another as back up.

You don’t happen to have a model number for the Bosch driver do you Chris?

I use a Bosch IXO 3.6v (350 grammes) most of the time and a 7.2v PSR200LI (450g) for tougher jobs. Cheapest from e-bay. Haven’t tried the angled bit. Must look into that. .
