My Whirlpool ADP 5442 WH keeps restarting once a job is done. I usually use the 50 degrees program, and I have not verified the problem with other programs (yet).

Is the mainboard faulty, or what could be wrong? Anyone experienced similar problems?

Check that model number please, can’t find anything on it. The 12nc number (Starts with 8) would be even better.

Thanks for that. Unfortunately, it’s still not coming up on my tech disc, so I presume that this must be pretty new. If you’re still i9n guarantee, use it.

Logically, the fault is not logical……… It might just be as simple as a sticky start button not releasing properly; I’d be rather more suspicious of the pcb.

It’s not new – It came with the apartment I recently bought. I talked to a service dealer and they suggested that the unit might be 5-10 years old.

I highly doubt that it’s the startbutton, as it’s an electrical short circuit button (if you call it that) – not mechanical. Worst case it could be electrical conductive dust causing a shortcircuit, but then it would more likely start/stop all the time, and not just restart everytime when it’s done.

Probably a corruption issue then. It does happen – PCB on Whirlpools in the order of £120- 150, so bit of a tight call if the machine is 5+ years old.
