ParticipantGuys / Girls,
Would really appreciate some help / advice!?
Got an ADP 8322. Have had a few problems in the past and many thanks to this site have managed to sort them all (so far!) At the minute the machine is put on to wash and doesn’t do alot of washing!
No fault codes / beeps etc sound and it seems to the untrained eye (me!) that it is / has completed it’s cycle ok. While doing the biz it sounds like it is draining / filling ok(and when i look there is “hot” water in bottom) but doesn’t sound like the spray bars are spinning during the cycle (confirmed by dirty dishes at the end!) I have put these (all three spray arms) in a “certain” position and closed the door, re-opened shortly after and they have not moved at all. When i think i should hear them spinning there is a bit of a rumbling noise (similar but not as loud as when spray support bar lugs were broken (before i replaced) and the pipe was “popping out” – hope that bit makes sense!?)
Having read a number of posts on here i’m guessing it’s either pointing to the capacitor or the circulation pump (or both?). Does this sound correct and if so how can i confirm / test them (if at all)?
If it helps previous problems i’ve had are (1) water level sensor in sump (black grill) needed cleaning (2) spray support bar changed (twice) and the main one was (3) anti flood switch kept faulting as i found very small hole (where rubber pipe perishing) on circulation pump pipe (yes the big atoll). As it was bonded on i cut it off and replaced with random rubber pipe (off a hoover of all things). Sorry to waffle on but thought it was best to list these in case connected to current fault!!……….
Any help / advice would be great!
Thanks for your time!
Mark

Thanks for your reply!
Are you saying that you are pretty sure it’s the pump and not the capacitor from the symptoms? (I’m sure i read on one post that if you can hear “noise” when running it’s more likely the capacitor and if not the pump, so am a little confused!?)

Motor illustrated in the article does not use a start/run capacitor. The replacement type does.

Penguin,
Ah thats’s why i can’t find one then!
I currently have dishwasher in bits! I have removed the pump and taken it apart – i have noticed that the impellor spins on the magnetic piece it is connected to but if you hold the impellor the magnet still spins (in effect the impellor will “freewheel”. It will not come off / fall off (like in the article) but i’m assuming that is the fault (i.e. once the weight of water is on it it won’t turn?)
Thanks for your help!

Pretty sure it is the impellor as it doesn’t look right!
The question being now is that i have ordered a new one from the shop (4812 3615 8434) that it says is the right one fitted to this model.
Is it a straight one for one swop though as looks different in the picture. (e.g. are all the connections / fittings the “same” just maybe in a slightly different place etc?)
Thanks AGAIN!

Yup, like for like fitting. The kit includes a small bracket which must be fitted as the rear motor steady. Apart from that, the fun bit is getting those damn hose clips to fit back on……

Penguin,
Thanks for your help!
Not too worried about the clips as when i replaced the pump hose (after i cut it off) i used a jubilee clip one end and two cable ties (next to each other) as i knew they would be a pain. Didn’t leak (mind you didn’t wash much either! Haha!)
Many thanks!

Sorry…………….me again!
I take it the capicator hasn’t got an electrical connection then (guess it’s built in?) as the old one didn’t have one!?

Last picture on the link is the new motor – capacitor is the white cylinder on the side. It is replaceable if it ever comes to it – as far as you are concerned, the motor plug just needs plugging in to make it run.
