It looks like a water softener but I’m not familiar with the machine at all. One of the guys may have seen it though.

OK that’s great stuff. Not wanting to sound thick but what does it do, should it look that dirty and lastly, replace or bleach overnight?

To be honest the problem was a dodgy water inlet but while sorting that out I noticed this thing pictured above looked really disgusting and dirty. Problem is I’m a clean freak, if I don’t change it ill end up filling it with bleach 😳 :rolls:

Don’t do that – you wouldn’t believe how far the bubbles can carry……..
The brown substance is a resin compound, which softens the water. You add salt to it to re-ionose it and keep it working efficiently. Leave it absolutely alone.
