    Zanussi Freezone (222010302)

I just noticed the “too warm” warning showing in fridge, the freezer seems ok.
I tried sliding cool to coldest and turning dial up and down but no difference (apart from when I turn to 0 – it switches off) there is noise coming from fridge but i think it is the freezer, I have had a problem with ice in bottom of freezer since 1st year – it is now around 8years old – should i just get a new one? (not sure of cost of repair but recently both my dishwasher and washing machine decided to play up so they are on death row too! – so I hope it is cheap to repair!)

Should I switch it all off and defrost for 24hrs as I saw in a previous reply?

I do have a large chest freezer so I can move the frozen food and I have put a freezer block in fridge for now (it is 2am) not sure if food will be ok as it did not seem too cold in fridge.

    Hi

Yes the first advise is to defrost for 24hrs then restart. If there is a problem somewhere then the problem will normally reoccur within the next couple of weeks.

Common problem if it does come back is either the defrost heater or thermal fuse or defrost timer failure.

Ok – I am in the process of defrosting now (not sure how to tell when frost free freezer is defrosted?) Does it really need 24hrs?

    Thanks for the quick reply!
