ParticipantI suspect a phone call to an appropriate person could answer this, but I’m going to ask it here anyway.
According to the .pdf glossy brochure the ISE 5 is 600mm wide. The same brochure has details of the ISE 10 and it is stated to be 595mm wide.
My problem is I am looking to replace an integrated Diplomat that measures 595mm with the ISE 5, and if it really does measure 600mm then it is going to be a tight squeeze between the kitchen units that measure 600mm as well.
Could someone in the know or a kind soul with a tape measure and an ISE 5 in stock – do the business and confirm the dimensions for me. It would be most appreciated.
The last thing I want to do is go ahead and order the machine only to find it does not fit in the gap, or if it does, is so tight any vibration is simply amplified to the surrounding units as they are touching.
Regards
Bob.

Thanks for the quick reply.
As you might imagine it is not the reply I was hoping for since the units do measure 600 in between.
Does this mean being forced into the expense of an ISE 10 for the sake of 5mm ? 😯
Now I have a problem – will the 5 fit or not ?
Always the way – make my mind up on something and then a problem arises to make me change my mind.

600 into a 600 space won’t go Bob I’m afraid. Besides you need a little ‘breathing space’ either side for free standing machines to cover easy access and possible vibration considerations. 😉

But Bob, you will thank us for it in 20/25 years time.September 16, 2008 at 11:24 am #262611Bob Chalker

Once again, thanks for the replies.
Armed with that information and the dimensional data in the ISE brochure, I will set about seeing if an ISE 10 will fit in – not so much the width (As 595 should be OK in 600 gap……Unless you know better ?), but the depth.
The isolation taps are in the cupboard next door under the kitchen sink with the flexible drain pipe passing at high level through the side of the unit to beneath the sink and onto a spigot connector in the sink drainage pipe work.
I guess that is the difference between us mere mortals and you professionals – these are the machines you swear by, as opposed to the ones we the public buy – which we just swear at. :rolls:
If I do go for an ISE 10 – lets hope I never have to try and move it myself (70 plus kilo’s isn’t it?)
Cheers

80kg is the pallet weight of one ISE10, it’s built like a tank from heavy stuff like steel and iron.
The good news is, the chances of having to move it, unless you move house, in the next decade is very slim as they don’t break. 😉

Ok then,
Is this the clincher that stops me buying ?Have not found the ISE 10 Manual, but have found the ASKO W6222 one.
Page 31 details a built in installation and suggests a minimum gap of 622mm between the units, as well as a depth of 635mm (I still need to check on the depth I have, but it is a standard UK worktop).
Does this mean my gap of 600mm between the units just ‘ain’t gonna cut it’ for an ISE10 at 595mm wide ?
Here is the blurb from the manual
“Built-in installation
ASKO washers can be installed beneath a
cabinet or worktop with a height of 34½” (876
mm). There must be a gap of about ½” (12
mm) all around the machine, including between
the rear edge of the machine’s top
panel and the back wall. The opening width
must be at least 24½” (622 mm). Space must
also be available for the inlet and drain hoses.
See the illustration below for measurements
and positions.”Thanks in advance for any advice (even if it might not be what I would like to hear).
Regards
Bob.

From the ISE manual… 😉
Positioning the washing machine
The washing machine can be installed as a built-in or freestanding unit. Position the machine so that the electrical plug is easily accessible.
A. Built-in
The washing machine can be installed under a counter top with a working height of 850 – 900 mm. Leave a 5 mm space around the machine, particularly between the rear edge of the top cover and the wall behind it.
B. Freestanding
The washing machine can be positioned beside or under a dryer.
You are more than welcome to a copy if you like Bob.
But, in essence, a standard Euro kitchen box is 600x600x850mm and the 10 is designed to fit inside the confines of that space. You do get situations where there is only 595mm or so but it isn’t a problem in my experience, especially on the 10’s as they are so stable. Due to the unique four shock “floating tub” design the vibration passed to the surroundings, flooring or units, is massively reduced over many other machines as it damps vibration incredibly well.
Let me put it this way, my one ISE10 is sandwiched hard between a dishwasher and a sink unit and there’s no problem with it. In fact, there’s less vibration than there was with the old German Blomberg it replaced, a lot less.

Phew.. great thread.. I have the same 600 x 600 x 850ish gap where my integrated currently resides so it will be a tight fit.. lets hope it nevers has to come out once plumbed in!
good news that it should fit fine.
