ParticipantHi,
I’ve got one of these to look at tomorrow. Done a few large WP dryers before but never seen one of these. According to cust there is no PNC on the rating plate. Fault is it just does nothing. Power light on but does nothing. No humming (seized motor), no motor noise (snapped belt).
I asked cust to turn drum by hand says it turns ok with no problems.I’m open to any sugestions ?? Is there a switch on the door?? Any particular areas to look at?
All help greatly appreciated
Thanks in advance
Steve

I had one of these with that fault, it threw me, but it turned out to be a toc on the exhaust that was only breaking down under load if I remember rightly. It knocks the whole thing off, there not a bad machine to work on at all but I think the lid/door micro switch can be a bitch to change.
Hope that helps.

Hi 🙂
I had one of these last week and if you remove the lid and on the left hand side there is a plastic wiring cover running from the front to the back if you take it off there is a fuse holder with a 6 or 8 amp fuse in it 🙂Mark 🙂

Mbdas,
you were spot on !!. Ironically, I did look under the wiring cover (metal in this case) on my first quick visit but didn’t see the fuse holder hidden behind the tape binding it all together.
For futher info fuse is T6.3 (surge) Amp 250v (20mm), £2.69 for a pack of ten from Maplins…. no obvious cause for it to blow in the first place.
The lady told me how she bought it off E-bay (oh no..) and it came with a 13A 3 pin plug… !!!! Not bad for an appliance with a 4.6 KW element !!! plus motor etc etc. Eventually had to call WHP out because it kept blowing fuses 😯 😯 😯 😯 It is now all correctly installed on with it’s own mcb on the consumer unit.
Thanks to all who offered help and advice.
