I have replaced the drum bearings on this machine as the machine was making ‘Banging’ noises’ on the spin cycle, but the drum is still loose and seems like the inner drum is loose on the shaft but I can’t see an easy way to inspect this without spliting the outer drum.Just wondered if anyone else has had similar problems with this model and what the outcome was apart from providing landfill.Any ideas appreciated.
    Steve.

Landfill I’m afraid, along with countless other Indesit machines.
It sounds like the alloy drum support has snapped.

Comes complete with inner drum at around £85 to £95. A major strip down to replace. 😥

Thanks iadom you were ‘spot on’,decided to take it apart anyway and found that 2 of the legs on spider had snapped and the 3rd had started to go at the edges.I had the time and just wanted to prove that it was un-repairable before in went went into landfill.

The one thing you can do to prevent this sort of thing happening to any machine in the future is to make sure you use a good quality detergent which must be a powder or tablets, not a liquid and be sure to do a maintenance wash at regular intervals.

    Maintenance wash
