Dryer is only blowing cold air. Is there any way I can tell whether the problem is the thermostst, element or both.

Noticed in a couple of other topics that some dryers seem to have more than one thermostst so am wondering if this is this the case with this model and if so where is the one that’s not attached to the element is located.

Greatfull for any help that’s out there.

You need a test meter. Heater resistance approx 25-30 ohms, thermostats should all be normally closed; ie with the machine cold. This should give a resistance reading of virtually zero. Accurate results will onlt be obtained with each component separated from the circuit.

    Power off, of course.

Thanks Penguin 45. Was afraid this was going to get a bit technical so I think I’ll change the element and thermostst(s).

Before I go trying to find something that might not be there can you (or anyone else) tell me if this dryer has an exhaust thermostat as well as the ones that fit on the element.

Exhaust stat is on the lower front of the machine, behind the plastic cover.
