The suspension is getting noisy on my trusty 9534 washing machine and I’ve decided to have a go at replacing it.
I found part number 1600429 “Drum Suspension Kit” on Shop@. The part is shown as being suitable for the later ’95 series’ machines but not for mine. I’ve had the machine open and the worn parts look almost identical to those pictured on the site.
The question is will part 1600429 fit my 9534?
Any help will be gratefully received!

Yes.
Read data sheet and ensure that you fit all parts.

Being a ‘real’ Hotpoint means I usually find the 9534 nice and easy to work on. The same cannot be said for the new nasty Indesit based stuff.

actually, the newer ones arent that bad, thats because we do that many of them so often
its not the fact theyre not easy to work on, its the fact theyre pants

I seem to have solved my problem by applying a liberal amount of grease to the right hand suspension leg. It seems it wasn’t worn out at all, just creaky and in need of an oiling! At least I’ll have the kit just in case it does wear out.
Hopefully I can keep this 9534 going another few years. My other machine, a Zanussi Z9191T from 1986 has never gone wrong and will probably outlive the Hotpoint!
