ParticipantHi, Ive been trying to repair bosch SGS45EO86B/56 dishwaser, it just fills until the flood prevention switch comes on, and pumps for a few secs, and fills again etc, there is no p/switch as such, I have reset the timer, there are no blockages! and no leaks, Im sure it must be a simple fault, many thanks..Kencomet…

This an SGS45E08GB/56……
It does have a pressure switch (remove left hand side panel to view). The chamber can get seriously clagged with food detritus, as can the hose leading from it to the sump. Additionally, it has the infamous “impellor jug” – a flow meter – which causes problems. It sends signals directly to the computer board to tell it how fast the water is flowing in.
Strip and clean the pressure switch and hose as a starting point. If things don’t improve, the flow meter is the next target. P/no 424099 if you wish to replace it – spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk will get you one promptly.
Stay safe, power off for anything other than observation.

Hi thanks for info, taken side panel off, no p/switch, only one switch which is the flood prevention switch, the p/ swiotch as in earlier models, ie with two switches is not there, can I bridge out out flow pcb ,to check if ok! it does appear that someone has taken the p/switch off, although there are no spare connecting leads showing, thanks again.. Hmm, correct, no pressure system at all….. Impellor jug it is then. Bridging it would be pointless, as it is a reed switch and magnet set up. The computer counts the pulses generated to work out the flow. And, it’s cheap. Possible that the pcb has lost its marbles, but quite a price.

not being funny but have you checked the hose that runs from the sump to the fill chamber on the side as when they are blocked up it will cause exactly that problem, im assuming that it isnt flooding it just thinks it is.
