ParticipantCan anyone help with the meaning of a symbol on a creda tumble dryer knob. I understand the iron symbol is iron dry and the cupboard is cupboard dry. There is another symbol a circle with a straight line on the top. (I have a picture but not sure how to attach to this text).
Can anyone tell me the meaning of this symbol or how to attach a photo??

Upload your picture to a web hosting site such as Imageshack, Photobucket, Putlfile or similar. Then copy and paste the link url into your post.

A very good question that really begs an answer. 😉
However, there are two of these symbols on that knob, as well as the obvious OFF symbol they also appear to be OFF positions of some kind, perhaps they are the creasguard, intermittant tumble at the end of the main drying cycle. :con:

not viewed the symbol, but try accessing Hotpoint sevice customer site and download the instructions for that machine.

IADOM, I missed the model number bit, Your response however does smack of arrogance, especially as you are the moderator.
Oh and I have toned down my response to avoid the same. CheersOctober 1, 2008 at 10:16 am #263442iadom

Come on, I thought we were all grown men and women here, why so touchy. 😉
Sadly it still didn’t manage to elicit a model number from the OP. 😥
Sarcastic, possibly, arrogant, I don’t think so. 8)Jim.

OK, sussed it. Cupboard dry (wardrobe symbol) Iron Dry (Iron Symbol) and the one which has us guessing Hanger Dry, all sensor dryer settings.
Let me know if right or wrong, in the nicest possible way. 😆

They must have some very strange hangers at Creda, still we got there in the end. you learn something new every day. 8)
It begs the question though, what is the difference between cupboard dry & hanger dry. Can you put them on a hanger but not in the cupboard. ❓ ❓
Thanks.
Jim.
