    Hello there, I have one of the above washing machines inherited from my elderly mother. I think it is about 15 years old.
    However it popped the electrics the other day and now only shows power but makes no effort to do anything. Spinning the dial makes no difference.
    Is there a breaker after the power light or something like that.

    The first thing to check is the motor brushes, be sure to remove the mains plug before you stick your hands inside.

    Thanks for that but why would it blow the mains if it was the brushes and are they easy to replace?

    because they wear down to the spring and blow up

    check them, youll see what iadom means
