    My tumble dryer has died.

    It still tumbles but doesn’t heat up.

    I’ve been told that this is the thermostat that needs replacing. If so, is this something that I could do myself?

    Or could there be another explanation?

    its a td 71

    and yes, the stats are on the back, above the heater
    plug out, remove rear banjo shaped panel, and test stats

    ………….I’ve looked at the model number and discovered that it’s actually a TC71…doh!! Have also had a look at the back of the dryer and located what I think is the themostat. Is it the little metal strip that is attached by 2 screws? It’s also housed under a metal casing.
