Hi Anyone who maybe able to help,

I have the above diplomat ceramic black hob, now the top oven and bottom oven work fine, so did all the ceramic hot plates on the top until the other day, the oven and top oven still work fine, but now i cant even turn the ceramic plates on using the “on” touch sensative button.!!

Does anyone possibly know where i should at first start looking, i think the hobs themselves are fine, possibly its the on/off touch button, but i’m not sure…maybe a clue was last week some pans were cooking and the cooker beeped and the ceramic hob went off, then i couldnt switch it back on until about ten mins later, then it went off again, then not at all, now it wont turn on at all….
    hope this helps,
    thank you kindly…Frank….

    hi
MAKE SURE ITS HAS NO POWER BEFORE U DO ANYTHING
I would say few poss causes
i would go for a burn,t terminal block or if u lucky just lose screws on the terminal block or burn conection wire on pcb or worst case big time blown pcb.
    pcb,s are costly

    also
alot of times the pcb sensors have moved from glass aka pcb has dropped. on the bottom of pcb is grey strip pushing pcb up to glass can try moving that around .
But if it came on then went of came on now nothing , i would say burn,t or lose connection.
don,t forget ovens and hobs are 2 diffrent machines be 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} sure its dead and don,t presumme the big red switch will turn it of

Thanks for the reply, most helpfull,

I will be 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} safe and not presume the main cooker isolator probably turn off at the consumer fuse box just to really sure.

your reply has encoureged me to have a go, i thought it may have been something like the touch sensative on/off buttons that may have gone, but i will check for t/block and possibly PCB Board as you suggested. come to think of it something did make a fizz noise just before it went off, so maybe its only something small..
Getting at the under side or removing the glass hob looks the hardest part at the moment.!

    thank you…

    Re: DIPLOMAT ADP 1520

    Hi,

Many thanks to karv you were correct with your diagnosis it was the terminal block, it was burnt to a crisp, very noticable as soon as the cover was removed, also a tiny circuit board was attached and that to has suffered a blown resistor…..

my next question is fairly obvious, is it possibe to get another terminal block and tiny board .?? i have taken a photo of the items for future referance if needed.

many thanks again, look forward to a reply from anyone please.

    king regards,
    Frank.

Sorry, it’s probably a bit late in the day, but at the bottom of your post (and mine! 😀 is a 2find spare parts” facility……it’s good, fast, top-quality stuff….which means it’s not the cheapest on the ‘net, but IMHO, it’s the best VFM and helps support this Forum 😀
