    Hi,

Can anyone advise me on what to do about a leaking freezer section. Ice forms on the inside base of the freezer and as this accumulates, it then leaks onto the kitchen floor. I cleared away a not insubstantial layer (upto 2cm thick) yesterday and today it now has a thin covering.

Is it a matter of just defrosting the freezer, or is something more substantial involved.

This has been ongoing for months now and FYI the fridge freezer is about 8 years old.

    Hi

This is normally caused by a blocked drain hole which is behind the back panel..Normally caused by dust, hairs ect over the years.

Just solved this problem. The drain hole at the back of the freezer probably blocked with ice. Need to empty freezer, remove the white-coloured access plate (2 screws) at the back middle and defrost the ice and plug hole access that will be revealed. A normal defrost of the freezer will not achieve this. Good luck!

On this model the pipe leading from the drain can sometimes block up and the pipe has to be removed to clear the blockage.
