Can anyone help me before my husband divorces me over a fridge freezer!
I am looking for a fridge freezer that wil last but will also look good in my kitchen freestanding (it is open plan so it must be smart) I want a wide fridge and quite like the american style but have read quite a few nightmare stories on this forum that i am a bit concerned.Current favourits are fisher and paykel but also recently saw a whirlpool. Can anyone help as i really have to become unglued from this laptop soon. p.s. silver/ss or black only

    Hi eno

Good grief missus lets save your marriage 😆 go for a Maytag or the more value range of Admiral.

There`s a good article here from our advice and help section which should help you come to the right choice.

Admiral is them Whirlpool ones now Don, I wouldn’t advise them. 😉

You’ll now find a LOT of companies using the Italian made Whirlpool machines dressed up in various disguises at wildly different prices. All the same thing though and, for one high end name we’ve been having rather a lot of bother with those boards, which are not cheap to replace.

The new Liebherr one looks good though, I’m trying to get one to test/review as I’m impressed. It’s not cheap as usual, but likely built like a brick outhouse.

The top end Maytags are good as well but if you’re going to run to that you may as well get the Liebherr one TBH.

Stay clear of anything Korean or, heaven forbid, Chinese!

It “should” be possible to run a pipe around the walls, under or behind the units,at reasonable cost………if the units are open-fronted (no plinth), the pipe would need to be clipped to the underside-rear of the units. not implossible but a bit fiddly.
