Working in the heart of hard water Britain and whenever I come across a gunged up machine then it’s always a Bosch! 😯

It is true to say that of all machines that are prone to the outer drum and internal hoses getting badly affected by limescale and a build-up of detergent residue. Almost all of these machines are used and abused by their owners oblivious to the need for selecting the correct detergent for the correct fabric…blah…blah…blah. But without exception Bosch machines fair the worst and when you find a typical example then boy oh boy are they ever clogged up big time! :rolls:

Usually the inlet nozzle to the pump/filter unit clogs up like a blocked artery and the internal corrugated drain hose is similarly clogged leading to the vented water container which is solid with the stuff. If water does manage to get to the end of the drain hose then it dribbles out like some poor soul with prostate problems.

Attempting to clear that lot is a real messy task involving ripping out all the hoses, taking them outside and rodding them clear. As for the vented water container, then it’s best to chuck it in the bin and fit new for all the time it takes to faff around trying to clean it.

And that’s just clearing out the drainage system………..and you’re up the creek without a paddle if after doing all that the outer drum is still full solid with the stuff. Any hot wash will then see great chunks of beige coloured lumps of gunged up limescale heading straight for the pump and blocking it up the moment you drive down the road!

Try telling the customer to get on their hands and knees and clear out yet another blocked pump for themselves after they’ve spent £40 plus on your services to do exactly that and see where it gets you? Even if you talk them nicely into doing that themselves then chances are every wash they do thereafter will end up in the pump blocking up anyway!

In these extreme but all too common instances unless the drum is completely taken apart and cleaned then the problem with continue ad infinitum. :rolls:

Why is it that Bosch machines are the only ones so badly effected in this way I wonder????? 😕
