Hi,
My machine has recently died…..the drum was making a bit of a wierd noise, like a squeaky thud, when starting the spin cycle. then i noticed the drun stopped spining for a moment then started again before stopping compleatly.
Switched machine off sharpish.I took the top of and rear acess plate and found the belt had come off, took out washing and attempted to spin the drum – no joy. After a bit more effort the drum freed and now seems to be spinning freely.
I suspect that just hopeing the machine is fine to use again is not the best option.
What could have caused this? would it be worth attempting to open the drums and have a look further? or pay someone to do it??

Sock under drum is a good bet. Removing heater and going fishing is the usual solution. Be advised that occasionally it is impossible to refit the original heater as the rubber seal distorts……..

Top shout with the diagnosis.
Three of the little ones socks had been eaten alive 😆 ……….I assume the small part at the rear,with the wires attached is the heater? didnt fancy that if so.
i got them out by removing the rubber drain thingy – the one with the large ping pong ball in it under the front of drum.BTW do both hoses need to be attached to test the cycle?
