Hi

I have an LG GRB206GTQA side by side American style fridge freezer. I bought it in 2005.

A few weeks ago an error message appeared: “ER CF”. I called LG who confirmed that this indicated an error with the cooling fan.

I called out local engineers who replaced the cooling fan, but the error message remains.

By their own admission the engineers are “stumped”. Does anyone have any ideas? I’m moving out in a week and I really don’t want to leave the people buying the house with a fridge with a big error message on it.

I should also point out that it has apparently been functioning normally both before and after the cooling fan was replaced.

All is Not Lost
We have had same faults down Here
Indeed has been wiring in cabjnet
You can check circuit from PCB on top of Fridge to Fan motor near compressor to confirm
If no circuit then normally wiring Fault
We have successfully overcome this problem by simply running a wiring loom down the outside rear of refridge
Doesnt look pretty but its at the back anyway

Thanks for the info, good to have a better idea what I’m dealing with anyway.

Can you give me a bit more info on what this entails? I’ve booked another call out, through LG this time, so it would be good to give the engineer a heads up before he arrives.

ok.
what hes trying to say is that yes, it could well be the wiring harness

the fan plugs into a plug on the back wall of the freezer, the wires from there go to a multifunction plug, attatched to the pcb which is mounted on the top of the cabinet under the plastic cover

taking a multimeter, after establishing which plug does what ( and quite often on lg ittl be written on the pcb) then test for continuity in the loom, and establish which wire, or wires is faulty

then you could possibly run a replacement wire on the inside of the cabinet to the pcb, which may not be massiveley noticeable

i dont know anyone who would be prepared to hack the wiring out and refoam, leads to all sorts of problems

hope that helps?

Thanks again, I’ll pass all this onto the engineer. 🙂

Exactly a big Messy Job Doing That Way
My point is running The Wires EXTERNALLY
