A while ago I had 3 fail in a month, all non gen, then had another one not getting hot enough, when I tested it was reading 250 Ohms, how did that get past quality control, 😯 no problems since.

I won’t fit the non-gen half moon neff element anymore. Every one that I fit failed in under 12 months 👿
It’s genuine or nowt with them!

Yes, I’ve had two non gen ones fail at the same house in the last 4 months; three in the last year.

The genuine Bosch element is not made by EGO though, it’s made by IRCA. 😉

thats interesting because connect were selling these elements as genuine last year packed in plastic bags with a piece of paper inside with genuine part number printed on it, and im pretty damn sure that they come acked in brown paper.

Yes we have had a significant number of pattern elements ( Neff ) fail within a very short time and Connect have supplied them !
We are now sourcing them from elsewhere to see how we go

stopped using non gen because of failure the ones i had from qualtex where formed wrongly and the elements where too close to each other causing a hotspot and early failure

ParticipantJust read this post, thought I should warn you lot about Masterpart half turn pattern elements.
Went to fit one yesterday and it tripped the customers RCD. Have 4 more on the van and they are all dead short to earth -2M ohms. Only 1 month old, so thats the reason they only cost £2.89. masterpart part no: BS14107 beware!December 1, 2008 at 11:53 pm #264820admin
KeymasterRe: Neff half turn elements

Maddocks stocks these elements – 14-NF-43, as a pattern alternative to the genuine (which is rather steep in price)! We source them ourselves also so they’re not from the same batch as other trade suppliers.
We sell quite a few of them and I’ve not had bad reports back from Customers. Although that’s not to say you’ll never had one that doesn’t work.
May be worth a go if your current source is too expensive / unreliable!

my supplier tests every one before selling, one cure is to bake in oven if resistance is moving towards earth
not convinced baking cures problem but supplier says returns have reduced,
there is a major problem with all elements, how do you first of all know gen from non-gen, as most of the ones you take out only have voltage and wattage on them
why do we accept this crap anyway no country of origin where is the quality control
