ParticipantHi
Is anyone able to help? I have a stainless steel Liebherr frost free fridge freezer (CNes 3866 index 20A/147 Service number 0974506-01 appliance number 21 725 970 3) which is about 3 years old.About a week ago I found that the ff was beeping to warn of an increase in temperature in the freezer. It had raised to -5. The lights were on and there was no fault code etc displayed. The fridge was still operating normally and was at 5 C. I had to unplug the ff and plug it back in to get the freezer to start working again. It quickly got back down to -18 C.
Since then this has been a daily occurrence. I have pulled it further away from the wall to ensure it is getting adequate ventilation and have cleaned the back of it but it doesn’t seem to have made any difference.
Any suggestions? Many thanks

You have got a problem with it defrosting itself, this is a job for an liebherr engineer. AND no it is not on its last legs, the Liebherr brand is one of the best appliances you can get 😀

Hi
turn off your appliance for 24hrs with both doors left open and then restart as normally.
I have had quite a few which has had the same problem and defrosting in this way has cured it for a couple of years,I havent been able to find out why they do this but there wasnt any fault on any of the appliance defrost system.

Hi
Just bringing up this thread again and wondering if the “switch-off for 24 hour” solution worked. I have a very similar problem with the same fridge-freezer. The fridge works perfectly, but the freezer, whilst it cools down fairly quickly to the set temperature (-19), starts warming up a few hours after it has reached the -19. When it eventually starts beeping as it gets warmer, I use the super frost function and it cools rapidly again. Or I switch it off for 20 minutes and then it cools rapidly, and then the cycle starts again after a few hours.
No fault is displayed on the indicator and I have verified the temperature reading using a separate freezer thermostat.
Someone told me it may be the compressor start relay that is faulty. Does this make sense?
Liebherr says it is due to a power interruption – which sounds like the control board needs to be reset by purging it of power. Does this make any sense at all
Any help appreciated.

Switching it off overnight did the trick for me!
