Hi, I’m new here, hoping someone can help and apologies if this has been answered before!

I have a Hoover WDM 130 washer/dryer, it is about six years old. I used it for four years with no problems whatsoever, then two years ago it went into storage as I moved into a shared house. I know for definite it was not used in this time.

Recently I moved back into my own place and today I installed the washing machine, with no problems at all. However, it just doesn’t work. No sign of life whatsoever.

I have checked the socket is working and the fuse is good and yes, I took the bar off the back before installing it.

    Has anybody got any ideas?

Could it have received a bump or shock at any point during the move? If so, one of the edge connectors on the PCB may have come adrift. Plug out before inspecting inside.

Ah, that sounds like it could well be the case cos we had to move it down a difficult twisty stairway

Is this something I could reasonably look at myself, or a ‘definitely get an engineer out’-type thing?

the wdm only has the small speed comntrol pcb at the bottom, other than that it has a timer

best bet is to just take the top off and look for loose wires.. main culprit would be on the supresser, where the mains lead comes in

    plug out of course
